Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least 1 year of relevant experience
  • completion of food safety and sanitation training
  • training in equipment operation, cleaning, and maintenance
  • ability to lift and handle weights up to 55 lbs
  • capability to work in wet, cold, or hot conditions
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work in fast-paced retail environment
  • physical ability to perform standing, walking, bending, reaching, crouching, and lifting as required
  • willingness to adhere to health and safety protocols

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year of experience in food service or retail

Job Duties

  • Proactively provides superior customer service
  • takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • answers customer questions regarding products
  • assists them with selections
  • works independently with minimal supervision
  • applies expertise to prepare, package, and merchandise fresh product effectively
  • focuses on inspecting for quality
  • slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
  • assists in technical areas such as operation of Tortilleria
  • uses advanced selling techniques and product knowledge to build department sales
  • cleans and sanitizes display cases
  • operates and maintains complex equipment properly
  • complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
  • complies with department and store operating procedures
  • records production and shrink to aid in production planning
  • greets and assists service counter customers timely
  • manages Make Ready application for e-Commerce orders
  • performs inventory management processes
  • trains other partners
  • ensures catering orders are prepared for pickup
  • provides product demos and education
  • ensures sanitation and maintenance tasks for equipment are followed
  • serves and packages products at customer requests
  • educates customers on preparation and reheating of prepared foods
  • prepackages condiments for prepared food items
  • cuts and dices food in preparation for chefs
