Job Duties
- Proactively provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- works independently with minimal supervision
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- focuses on inspecting for quality
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as more difficult set-up and clean-up
- operates the Tortilleria
- uses advanced selling techniques and product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains all complex equipment properly
- complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning (Bakery)
- assists in baking, frying, and decorating (Bakery)
- culls bakery products for poor quality and expiration dates (Bakery)
- ensures service counter customers are greeted and taken care of promptly (Deli)
- manages Make Ready application for e-Commerce orders (Deli)
- uses Fresh Production Planner to prepare product quantities accurately (Deli)
- performs inventory management processes (Deli)
- assists in training other partners
- ensures catering orders are prepared on time
- communicates product inventory concerns to Lead or Manager
- provides product demos and education
- ensures sanitation and maintenance tasks for deli slicers
- serves and packages products at customers' request (Prepared Foods)
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions (Prepared Foods)
- prepackages condiments for prepared food items
- cuts, slices, dices, chops food in preparation for chef
