Job Requirements
- minimum age 18
- high school diploma or equivalent
- completion of company orientation
- completion of food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- ability to work with customers attentively
- ability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as reaching, grasping, standing, walking, bending, lifting as required
- ability to lift up to 55 lbs for deli, and manage weights in excess of this with assistance
- commitment to quality and customer service

Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists them with selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up
- uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink to aid in production planning (bakery role)
- takes care of service counter customers (deli role)
- uses ordering system applications and fresh production planner (deli role)
- serves and packages products at customer's request (prepared foods role)
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- prepackages condiments for prepared foods
- cuts, slices, dices, and chops food in preparation for chef
