Job Requirements
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education
- ability to utilize professional customer service skills
- knowledge of park policies, practices, and standards
- ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- knowledge of general office practices and procedures
- knowledge of Microsoft Office and web-based technology
- basic accounting and cash handling skills
- ability to monitor activities and provide assistance in county buildings
- ability to maintain good working relationships
- ability to sustain stationary position throughout shift
- ability to move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds
- knowledge of outdoor recreation safety and principles
- ability to operate kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and bicycles
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- ability to handle multiple priorities
- willingness to undergo background check
- possession of valid Iowa driver’s license
- pass physical exam and capacity testing
- pass drug screen
- obtain CPR/AED and First Aid certification within six months
Job Qualifications
- Graduation from high school or equivalent education
- any equivalent combination of training and experience providing required knowledge and skills
- previous customer service experience preferred
- experience or interest in outdoor recreation activities preferred
- experience or interest in working with individuals with disabilities or in adaptive outdoor recreation preferred
- minimally 16 years old
Job Duties
- Greet the public
- answer telephone calls
- relay messages
- direct callers and provide general information
- perform routine office work including registrations and reservations as needed
- compute fees and collect money from customers
- reconcile fees and merchandise sales daily and prepare reports
- assist with special event implementation, programs, and services
- supervise use of facilities during public and private hours
- assist park guests with recreation equipment rentals
- process cash, debit, and credit card payments
- operate online rental platform for reservations
- provide instruction and education related to equipment operation and safety
- assist users of all abilities with equipment transfers and adaptations
- collaborate with programming staff and community partners for setup and cleanup of equipment
- maintain inventory records and contribute to reports
- assist with equipment inventory management and maintenance
- maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards
- perform related duties as assigned
