Job Requirements
- Minimum age 18
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of company orientation and food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to work with customers attentively
- Physical capacity to lift up to 55 lbs and manage up to 70 lbs depending on the department
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, squat, crouch, kneel, climb stairs, pivot, twist, push/pull, perform fine motor movements
- Willingness to comply with food safety and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists them with selections
- Prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
- Assists in technical areas as needed (e.g., basic set-up and clean-up processes)
- Uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
- Complies with department/store operating procedures
- Performs additional department-specific responsibilities such as recording production and shrink in bakery, taking care of service counter customers in deli, or serving/packaging products in prepared foods.
