Job Requirements

  • Minimum age 18
  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • completion of company orientation
  • completion of food safety and sanitation training
  • ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
  • ability to work with customers attentively
  • ability to perform department-specific tasks such as lifting and handling heavy items
  • willingness to maintain all safety and sanitation standards
  • commitment to quality and customer service
  • capable of standing and walking for extended periods

Job Duties

  • Provides superior customer service
  • takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
  • answers customer questions regarding products
  • assists them with selections
  • prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh product effectively
  • slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for poor quality
  • assists in technical areas as needed such as basic set-up and clean-up
  • uses suggestive selling techniques and basic product knowledge to meet customer needs and build department sales
  • cleans and sanitizes display cases
  • operates and maintains equipment properly
  • complies with H-E-B food safety and sanitation standards
  • complies with department and store operating procedures
