Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in operations management or related field
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Ability to develop and implement safety plans
  • Proficiency in coordinating events and tours

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in history, museum studies, maritime studies, or related field preferred
  • Experience in museum or heritage site operations management
  • Proven leadership experience supervising staff and volunteers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments
  • Knowledge of maritime history and preservation
  • Experience in event planning and educational program development

Job Duties

  • Manage the operations and educational tours of the battleship including staff supervision and volunteer coordination
  • Determine staffing needs and develop policies and procedures for battleship operations
  • Assist with recruiting, training, and monitoring staff and volunteers
  • Maintain personnel files and prepare reports and timesheets for payroll
  • Develop safety and emergency plans for the battleship
  • Create tour content in collaboration with other departments to enhance guest experience
  • Plan and coordinate special events aboard the battleship in partnership with the Events Department
  • Collaborate with the Exhibits Team on curatorial research, planning, and installation activities
