Job Duties
- Customer consultation: discussing and understanding customer needs for custom orders, offering design suggestions, and providing cost estimates
- Design and creation: sketching designs, preparing icings/fillings, applying techniques (piping, airbrushing, fondant work), and adding messages/edible images
- Production: decorating standard bakery items, assisting bakers, and assembling multi-tiered cakes
- Order management: taking orders, ensuring timely completion, packaging items, and sometimes managing paperwork
- Inventory and maintenance: monitoring stock, ordering supplies, cleaning equipment, and maintaining a sanitary work area
- Trend awareness: staying updated on the latest decorating styles, techniques, and food safety regulations
