Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Basic knowledge of field maintenance
  • Ability to operate and maintain field equipment
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the sports season

Job Qualifications

  • Previous experience in groundskeeping, turf management, or a related field is preferred but not required
  • Basic knowledge of field maintenance techniques and equipment
  • Ability to operate and maintain machinery and tools
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Relevant certifications or training in turf management are a plus

Job Duties

  • Edge and trim the outfield, infield, and warning tracks
  • Ensure the pitching mound, batter's box, and base paths are properly maintained and groomed
  • Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed
  • Clean and repair field equipment
  • Handle irrigation systems to maintain proper moisture levels
  • Remove debris and ensure the field is free of hazards
  • Prepare the field for games, including setting up bases and pitching mounds
  • Perform quick repairs and adjustments as needed during games
  • Manage and oversee any field-related needs before, during, and after events
  • Operate and maintain field maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, and rakes
  • Ensure all equipment is stored properly and is in good working condition
  • Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to field maintenance and equipment use
  • Adhere to environmental regulations regarding the use of chemicals and waste disposal
