Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of field maintenance
- Ability to operate and maintain field equipment
- Commitment to safety protocols and procedures
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays during the sports season
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience in groundskeeping, turf management, or a related field is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of field maintenance techniques and equipment
- Ability to operate and maintain machinery and tools
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relevant certifications or training in turf management are a plus
Job Duties
- Edge and trim the outfield, infield, and warning tracks
- Ensure the pitching mound, batter's box, and base paths are properly maintained and groomed
- Apply fertilizers, pesticides, and other treatments as needed
- Clean and repair field equipment
- Handle irrigation systems to maintain proper moisture levels
- Remove debris and ensure the field is free of hazards
- Prepare the field for games, including setting up bases and pitching mounds
- Perform quick repairs and adjustments as needed during games
- Manage and oversee any field-related needs before, during, and after events
- Operate and maintain field maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, and rakes
- Ensure all equipment is stored properly and is in good working condition
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to field maintenance and equipment use
- Adhere to environmental regulations regarding the use of chemicals and waste disposal
