Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Previous EMS or 911 dispatch experience preferred
- Knowledge of local EMS systems and EMS communications
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic preferred
- Completion of Public Safety Telecommunicator Basic Training Course within 6 months of hire
- Completion of Emergency Medical Dispatcher Training Course within 6 months of hire
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Graduate of a recognized Emergency Medical Technician-Basic Training Program preferred
- Knowledge of local EMS systems and EMS communications
- Prior EMS or 911 dispatch experience preferred
- Certified Emergency Medical Technician-Basic by New Jersey Commissioner of Health and Senior Services preferred
- Ability to complete Public Safety Telecommunicator Basic Training Course within 6 months of hire
- Ability to complete Emergency Medical Dispatcher Training Course within 6 months of hire
Job Duties
- Operate MEDCOM radios, equipment, and telephones to assure efficient EMS communications
- Receive incoming calls and relay information to appropriate personnel or facility
- Complete and monitor phone patches and transfers to support online medical direction
- Enter all responses and data into computer aided dispatch system ensuring compliance with standards
- Perform weekly and monthly radio testing and maintain test records
- Assist with coordination of MICU Field Operations
- Coordinate transportation of emergent and non-emergent patients into and out of Virtua facilities and contracted facilities
