Job Requirements

  • Previous bartending, serving, and/or customer service experience
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 5 hours)
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must have closed toe, non-canvas non-skid soled shoes
  • Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Must maintain applicable Kansas license
  • Must be age 21 or above
  • Outgoing personality and positive attitude
  • Strong communication skills
  • Knowledge of wine and beverage brands, drink garnishes, and prices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of wines by the glass and bottle
  • Understanding of house cocktail inspiration, ingredients, and techniques
  • Familiarity with standardized cocktail recipes
  • Willingness to try new food and drinks
  • Ability to make confident food and beverage pairing recommendations
  • Knowledge of pre-check register operations
  • Basic math skills and ability to handle money
  • Computer operation skills
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation practices
  • Effective communication with co-workers and supervisors
  • Ability to think and communicate clearly under pressure
  • Excellent attendance and punctuality

Job Duties

  • Observe customers on bar entry and greet them promptly
  • Present drink menus, make recommendations, and answer beverage-related questions
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following standard recipes
  • Upsell drink specials and food items as directed
  • Execute wine service when necessary
  • Check in regularly with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Communicate allergy and dietary restrictions clearly on tickets
  • Take tables in the bar or dining room as assigned
  • Record drink orders accurately using the POS system
  • Accept guest payment and process transactions
  • Learn and recognize regular customers
  • Provide gracious and professional service
  • Respond promptly to requests and problems
  • Report equipment or bar maintenance issues
  • Maintain bottles and glasses attractively
  • Keep bar stocked and clean
  • Assist in restocking inventory and supplies
  • Maintain professional appearance and uniform standards
  • Foster positive teamwork among FoH, BoH, and hotel staff
  • Give sincere thank you and farewell to guests
  • Follow sanitation standards and company procedures
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management based on business needs
