Job Requirements

  • must be able to obtain a valid food service and alcohol permit
  • must consistently arrive to work as scheduled and be prepared to assume shift responsibilities

  • must be able to work a variety of scheduled shifts including late hours, holidays and weekends

  • must be physically capable of standing, walking and lifting up to 10 pounds continuously

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior bartending experience preferred
  • knowledge of food and beverage menus
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math skills
  • valid food service and alcohol permits or ability to obtain
  • willingness to follow company policies and state liquor laws
  • ability to work varied shifts including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • obtain a valid food service and alcohol permit
  • consistently arrive to work as scheduled, prepared to assume shift responsibilities
  • prepare section so that it is ready at scheduled time
  • be knowledgeable of all food and beverage menus, specials, seasonal beers and drinks prior to greeting their first table
  • follow all steps of service for each guest as outlined in the department training manual
  • accurately and timely enter all food and beverage orders into the POS with minimal errors
  • take initiative to support teamwork by helping other employees to ensure guest satisfaction
  • follow all company accounting policies and procedures regarding cash, credit card and gift card transactions
  • follow all company accounting policies and procedures regarding discounts, promos and employee meals
  • perform basic mathematics
  • engage guests, coworkers and managers with a positive, friendly, professional approach during all interactions
  • ensure each guest is taken care of upon entering and leaving the building
  • be knowledgeable of the company’s products, services, current promotions and recurring events
  • willingly follow direction of all management and supervisors, including additional requests for side work and cleaning
  • follow state liquor laws and company policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages and enforcement of ordinances and laws
  • attend all on-going food, bar or service trainings when scheduled
  • comply with all policies set forth by the company employee handbook and the department training manual
  • keep china and glass breakage to a minimum
  • prepare all alcoholic drinks in accordance to company recipes and standards
  • consistently use a jigger and follow all drink procedures for alcoholic drinks to ensure consistency at all times
  • ensure liquor loss is minimal and be committed to cost control
  • rotate and stock all coolers with the proper products and amounts required
  • keep alcohol storage areas locked and secure
  • maintain thorough knowledge of bar set-up and closing procedures
