Job Requirements
- Adhere to all standards of operations, policies, procedures, manuals, training materials, memos, and verbal instruction
- Escort customers to their tables
- Present menus and answer questions about menu items
- Describe and recommend wines to customers
- Check patrons' identification for alcohol consumption
- Explain how various menu items are prepared
- Serve food or beverages and prepare specialty dishes
- Inform customers of daily specials
- Write or enter food orders
- Attend to guests' special needs
- Garnish and decorate dishes
- Assist with running food
- Check with customers for satisfaction and address problems
- Manage order times and inform guests of delays
- Suggest desserts or coffee
- Prepare checks and collect payments
- Remove dishes and glasses for cleaning
- Clean tables and counters
- Prepare tables for meals
- Perform food and beverage preparation duties
- Stock service areas with supplies
- Fill condiment containers
- Bring wine selections and pour wines
- Communicate with all departments and management
- Maintain cleanliness and safety
- Ensure equipment is in good working condition
- Maintain awareness of safety and emergency procedures
- Attend relevant meetings
- Perform additional functions as needed
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Six months related experience in hospitality or service industry
- Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of co-workers and sister property staff
- Ability to understand computer programs such as Property Management System and Point of Sale
- Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Effective communication skills
- Customer service orientation
- Knowledge of food and beverage preparation
