Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • food handler card
  • experience in beverage preparation and service preferred
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • basic math skills for cash handling
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • adherence to safety and security protocols
  • neat and professional appearance
  • ability to use protective equipment
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • current food handler card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • ability to operate cash register and handle money
  • basic English writing skills
  • manual dexterity for garnish preparation and drink mixing
  • basic English language proficiency
  • ability to comprehend and apply written instructions
  • ability to memorize and promote menu items
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate bar set-up daily
  • requisition and stock all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws, stirrers, condiments and produce
  • maintain stock, cut and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables
  • receive cash from guests, make change, verify charges and record transactions
  • lock up and store all beverages, food and equipment
  • deposit cash drops and secure bank
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders
  • input orders into register and create checks for guests
  • perform general cleaning tasks using standard hotel cleaning products
  • adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • follow safety and security rules and procedures
  • know department fire prevention and emergency procedures
  • utilize protective equipment
  • report unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor
  • maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • assist other beverage personnel as needed
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
