This position is assigned to the Non-Appropriated Fund (NAE) Community Programs (N92) Branch, Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Recreational Fleet and Family Readiness Support Services (N94); Commander, Navy Region Hawaii, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor Hickam (JPHH), Honolulu, HI. Job Requirements
- Must be 21 years old or older
- Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods
- Ability to handle objects weighing up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Must communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and take appropriate action
- Must meet federal employment suitability requirements and successfully complete background investigation
- No positive education requirement
Job Qualifications
- Experience in mixing and serving beverages at a bar or similar establishment
- Knowledge of beverage preparation standards and correct proportions for cocktails
- Ability to identify and manage intoxicated or disruptive customers
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment involving prolonged standing and handling of objects
- Ability to meet federal employment suitability standards and pass background investigation
Job Duties
- Mix and serve beverages from a limited bar selection including liquor, soda, beer, and wine
- Serve pre-mixed beverages such as daiquiris according to standard recipes
- Recognize intoxicated or unruly patrons and take appropriate action to resolve issues or seek assistance
- Collect tabs or chits and reconcile them with quantities and prices of beverages dispensed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the service area
- Walk or stand for prolonged periods while performing duties
- Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with patrons and staff
