Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency required
  • Must obtain Kansas City Liquor License and Food Handlers Card
  • Must have good knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of most alcoholic beverages
  • 2 years of bartending experience required
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary for POS system operation and cash handling
  • Ability to work afternoon and evening shifts
  • Ability to work weekdays and weekends

Job Duties

  • Check station before, during, and after shift for proper set up and cleanliness
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Ice, mix, garnish and present drinks according to company standards
  • Practice prudent portion controls
  • Maintain accountability of beverages by inputting orders into the POS system and creating checks
  • Receive cash, coupons, and credit cards from guests, make change, verify charges and balance bank
  • Maintain bar setup including cleanliness, stocking beverages and supplies
  • Perform inventory spot checks at beginning and end of shift
  • Prepare garnishes for beverages
  • Follow closing procedures including locking up bar, storing items, depositing cash drops and securing bank
  • Load and unload glasses from dishwasher and polish glassware
  • Ensure maintenance of equipment by calling for repairs
  • Perform all assigned side work and general cleaning tasks
  • Maintain a calm, friendly, and professional demeanor at all times
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by management
