Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with Iowa Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from scheduled shifts
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess safety-oriented mindset and understand the importance of complying with all state and local food preparation and serving regulations
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Must be able to speak with guests directly when other F&B leadership is not present
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations, meet the demands of constant deadlines and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills
- Must possess strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat or reach above shoulders
- Ability to withstand heat and humidity from food preparation equipment
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 40 pounds or more
Job Qualifications
- No education requirements for this position
- 1+ years of previous work experience in food service, quick service, or restaurant setting
- 1+ previous supervisory experience a plus, preferably in a food or restaurant setting
- Previous amusement park, theme park, or water park experience a plus
- Must be Bartender/Server Certified (TIPS) or become so within 30 days of hire when required by state and local guidelines
- Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English
- Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus
Job Duties
- Supervise the daily operations of the bartending team and any other assigned departments
- Lead by example, attitude, and as a representation of Adventureland’s core values
- Act as an approachable mentor and coach to all assigned hosts
- Become knowledgeable of performing the essential duties of all assigned bar positions and backfill these positions when needed
- Participate in all aspects of supervision of assigned hosts, including hiring, orientation, training, performance coaching, and discipline
- Ensure that all required meal and other breaks are given in accordance with Iowa law
- Assist with team scheduling and timekeeping activities
- Welcome all guests with a smile and positive attitude
- Perform opening and closing procedures of assigned unit(s) including food preparation and cleanup
- Practice, teach and enforce proper food safety guidelines adhering to company policy and state/local Health Department requirements
- Adhere to all bar related TIPS safety training protocols
- Maintain compliance with company and industry best practices, policies, and procedures to create a safe environment for colleagues and guests
- Handle and resolve escalated guest concerns and criticisms with a positive attitude to deescalate
- Oversee quality controls and production of food items
- Manage inventory, focusing on portion and waste controls
- Interface with warehouse on product and supply needs
- Interface with maintenance on all equipment or physical plant needs
- Utilize Point of Sale (POS) and registers to accurately run tabs, prepare checks, and successfully record all financial transactions
- All other duties assigned by leadership
