Job Requirements

  • Food handler's license and liquor server permits as required by state law or ability to obtain
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
  • Reliable transportation to and from work
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Reliable and consistent attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Hospitality or hotel work experience preferred
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Knowledge of liquor laws and food safety standards
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a team environment
  • Professional appearance and demeanor

Job Duties

  • Check the identification of all guests who appear to be under 26 years of age
  • Maintain stock, cut, and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables daily to ensure product quality
  • Input orders into a register at point of sale and create checks for guests to maintain accountability
  • Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record transactions, and properly execute vouchers to balance all monies
  • Lock up and store beverage, food, and equipment items, deposit cash drops, and secure bank
  • Display knowledge of liquor laws, maintain attractive presentation and sanitize bar areas daily, suggest reception and drink menus
  • Bus and clean tables after guest use
  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • Identify and resolve guest issues promptly
  • Detect and act on customer inebriation as trained
  • Maintain integrity, confidentiality, and sensitivity when working with guests
  • Communicate effectively with hotel staff to ensure smooth service delivery
  • Complete a daily activity log with pertinent shift information
  • Obtain sales leads for the sales department
  • Coordinate with front desk, maintenance, food and beverage manager, and general manager on issues requiring attention
  • Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
  • Perform other hotel related duties as assigned
