Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in bartending or similar role preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic math and cashiering ability
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Must pass background check and any local licensing requirements if applicable
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous bartending or hospitality experience preferred
- Good knowledge of food and beverage menus
- Skilled in customer service and communication
- Ability to operate POS systems
- Basic cashiering skills
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and presentation standards
- Team-oriented with good organizational skills
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Duties
- Deliver on the promise of Sonesta Service in all interactions with guests and clients according to Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards
- Welcome guests and respond to requests in a prompt and professional manner
- Prepare all bar items and associated supplies, equipment, and materials
- Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks to patrons and proactively sell hotel amenities
- Monitor area to ensure adequate supplies of beverage, napkins, condiments, etc. are available
- Follow preparation methods, quality, and presentation standards
- Perform cashier duties managing a bank of $300-$500
- Coordinate with Food & Beverage leader on drink specials and promotions
- Answer telephone calls and handle guest orders courteously and efficiently
- Ensure correct posting in POS system for communication with service and kitchen
- Communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions and order status
- Assist in packaging, pick-up and delivery of orders to guest rooms
- Ensure security and proper storage of beverage products and inventory
- Maintain clean, neat, and organized bar area
- Assist food service team with transporting supplies and setting up banquet events
- Assist in kitchen duties including washing dishes, receiving and stocking deliveries
- Check and report unsafe equipment or maintenance needs
- Adhere to health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol service standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
