Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience in a hotel or related field
  • Must have a valid Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Certification and Food Handlers Certificate at start date
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly
  • Must be able to evaluate and select among alternative courses of action quickly and accurately
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations
  • Must be effective in handling workplace problems including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns and issues raised by coworkers and guests
  • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic math
  • Must maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years bartending experience in a hotel or related field
  • Valid Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission Certification
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to evaluate and select alternative courses of action
  • Experience working in high-pressure situations
  • Problem-solving skills in the workplace
  • Ability to listen, understand, and clarify concerns
  • Basic math and financial data handling skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure
  • Knowledge of hotel safety rules and policies

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with the company’s standards as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming including wearing proper uniform and name tag
  • Comply with the company’s standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with certification requirements including Alcohol Awareness and Food Handlers
  • Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor
  • Set up the bar according to hotel standards and Banquet Event Order
  • Prepare beverages and cocktails according to hotel mixing and presentation standards
  • Serve guests with all beverage requirements courteously and professionally
  • Break down bar after functions and store liquor, supplies, and equipment properly
  • Follow all state liquor laws
  • Know hotel services and facilities
  • Abide by all hotel policies and safety rules
  • Follow prescribed procedures serving liquor with care to avoid problems with intoxicated guests
  • Respond to guests’ problems, complaints, and accidents
  • Be familiar with fire exit and extinguisher locations and operation
  • Keep bar and service areas clean and tidy during service
  • Attend meetings as required by management
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or managers
