Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail environment
- Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service certification within 30 days
- Ability to obtain California Food Handler card within 30 days
- Basic math skills to operate cash register and handle money
- Physical stamina to lift up to 40 lbs, stand or walk for 8 hours
- Ability to work flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to communicate in English
- Manual dexterity and ability to use knives for garnishes
Job Qualifications
- Two years of bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
- Mixologist work experience preferred
- Previous FORBES training preferred
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- Proficient with cash register and point of sale systems
- Basic English writing skills for documentation
- Ability to operate manual tasks including garnish preparation
- Knowledge of liquor laws and responsible beverage service
- Ability to communicate effectively in English
Job Duties
- Maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking items based on daily function projections
- Maintain stock, cutting, and storing of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner promoting and documenting orders for drinks
- Mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and practicing portion control while checking guest identification and monitoring guest inebriation
- Input orders into the register at point of sale and create checks for guests and personnel to maintain accountability of all beverages served
- Receive cash from guests, provide change, verify validity of charges, record charges, and balance all moneys securing bank deposits
- Lock up and store all beverage, food, and equipment items ensuring security
