Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
  • Ability to obtain Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within 30 days of hire
  • Ability to obtain California Food Handler Card within 30 days of hire
  • Basic mathematical and English language skills
  • Manual dexterity to handle garnishes and bar tools
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand or walk for 8-hour shifts
  • Ability to work in confined spaces
  • Flexible availability including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of two years bartending experience in a high-end or luxury cocktail bar
  • Previous mixology experience preferred
  • Previous FORBES training preferred
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service
  • Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and handle transactions
  • Basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • Manual dexterity to handle bar tools and garnishes
  • Ability to read, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to operate point of sale systems
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing portion control
  • Checks guests for proper identification and acts upon guest inebriation as trained
  • Inputs orders into a register at point of sale and creates guest checks to maintain accountability
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, records charges, balances money and secures bank and equipment items
