Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must have strong communication skills
  • Must be able to stand or walk for long periods of time
  • Must have knowledge of classic cocktails, wines, spirits, and beers
  • Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card
  • Previous bartending experience in a professional setting preferred
  • Ability to work well in high-pressure situations
  • Ability to interact with all associates and guests
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated individual

Job Duties

  • Preparing all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Assessing bar customer needs and preferences and making personalized recommendations
  • Stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards
  • Provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • Participate in ongoing training for professional development
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • Set up bar and bar area according to resort standards
  • Cut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards for service
  • Consistently keep the bar area organized and clean
  • Know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • Follow pouring procedures appropriately using a jigger for accurate measurement
  • Notify Supervisors immediately of any product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • Have a working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg
  • Answer questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guests
  • Communicate with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, and product availability
  • Record all transactions accurately in MICROS system at time of order
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and/or beverages
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, and glass throughout the day
  • Complete closing duties including restocking items to set par levels and turning off lights
  • Present physical and accurate check to guests and process payments
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to resort standards
  • Anticipate and address guests' service needs
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support the team to reach common goals
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
  • Assist Supervisors with inventory
  • Notify manager or supervisor in a timely manner about suspicious ID cards or intoxicated guests
  • Proper cash handling of banks
  • Timely transfer of checks for guests being moved to a different section
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicate with peers, management, line and front of the house employees
  • Practice effective listening by seeking to understand
  • Perform related duties as required
  • Be responsible for cleanliness of the immediate work area and general property
  • Subscribe to proper grooming, dress, and uniform standards
  • Be courteous to all guests and coworkers
  • Maintain behavior consistent with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at the outlet
