Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of bartender experience in a high-volume, upscale bar, restaurant, or hotel environment
  • strong knowledge of classic cocktails, modern techniques, and spirits/wine/beer fundamentals
  • demonstrated ability to deliver polished hospitality and service recovery in a fast-paced setting
  • proficiency with POS systems and accurate cash handling
  • ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move up to moderate weight (cases, kegs with assistance, ice, bar supplies)

Job Qualifications

  • luxury hotel or premium cocktail program experience (preferred)
  • experience with craft cocktails, batching, and menu development support (preferred)
  • certifications as required/desired (e.g., TABC, ServSafe, TIPS based on local requirements) (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Provide warm, attentive, and professional service to guests at the bar and lounge areas
  • build rapport with guests
  • anticipate needs and tailor recommendations to preferences
  • manage bar pace and guest flow during high-volume periods while maintaining service quality
  • resolve concerns promptly and partner with leadership on service recovery when needed
  • prepare classic and signature cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages consistently to recipe and presentation standards
  • demonstrate strong knowledge of spirits, beer styles, wine varietals, and cocktail techniques
  • maintain recipe compliance, proper pour sizes, garnish standards, and glassware selection
  • support responsible alcohol service and verify identification in accordance with law and hotel policy
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, storage areas, coolers, and service stations throughout the shift
  • complete opening/closing duties including prep, batching, stocking, cleaning, breakdown, and shift handoff
  • accurately process guest checks, payments, and tips
  • follow cash handling and POS procedures
  • communicate effectively with servers, culinary teams, and leadership to ensure smooth service and accurate order delivery
  • stock and rotate products using FIFO
  • monitor pars for spirits, beer, wine, juices, garnishes, and bar supplies
  • assist with receiving, organization, and inventory counts as assigned
  • report breakage and shortages
  • follow food safety and sanitation standards, including safe handling of garnishes and mixers
  • ensure compliance with local alcohol regulations and Hyatt standards at all times
  • drive revenue through suggestive selling, premium spirit upgrades, featured cocktails, and food pairings
  • support seasonal menus and promotional initiatives
  • contribute ideas for cocktails and guest engagement
  • uphold appearance, grooming, and service standards consistent with a luxury hotel environment
