Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a hospitality or bar service role preferred
- Ability to pass a background check
- Must be of legal drinking age
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods and handling bar equipment
- Willingness to comply with all company policies and procedures
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Must communicate well with guests
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnish, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead for stock
- Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily functions projections
- Maintains stock, cuts, and stores fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest to maintain accountability
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks and stores all beverage, food and other equipment items, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
