Job Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Must comply with all alcohol service laws and regulations
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be reliable and punctual
  • Must be able to handle cash accurately

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must communicate well with guests
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills for cash handling and portion control
  • Manual dexterity to prepare garnishes, handle glassware and mix drinks
  • Ability to remember and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate a point of sale system
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
  • Requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce
  • Maintains stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner and promotes drink orders
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate alcoholic beverage requirements
  • Inputs orders into the point of sale register, creates checks and maintains beverage accountability
  • Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, and secures cash deposits
  • Ensures all beverage and food items are locked and secured at closing
  • Complies with attendance rules and performs other job-related duties as assigned
