Job Requirements
- must be at least legal age to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
- required to stand for long periods and perform physical activities including walking, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, stretching and twisting or reaching
- able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
- able to perform continuous repetitive motions
- able to work in hot, humid and noisy environments
Job Qualifications
- two years of full-service bartending experience preferred
- working knowledge of wine, beer, spirits and tending bar
- ability to learn and follow recipes
- skilled at slowing and refusing alcoholic beverage service when necessary
- complies with safety and sanitation requirements
- basic knowledge of POS systems preferred
- knowledgeable of daily club operations including events and operating hours
- ability to read and understand Banquet Event Orders
- ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision
- good organizational skills
- knowledge of emergency procedures
- alcohol beverage certification
- food safety certification
Job Duties
- Inspect the bar prior to opening to ensure adequate supplies are available
- request additional supplies as necessary and stock the bar
- follow set-up procedures
- prepare garnishes, fruits mixes and pre-mixed drinks prior to opening bar
- greet members and guests
- mix, prepare and serve drinks to members and guests and according to approved standard recipes
- collect checks and payments for drinks served
- report complaints to a manager as they occur
- maintain and clean bar area and equipment
- maintain records of liquors, beers and wine to ensure bar stock is maintained at all times
- clean and lock the bar area according to prescribed closing procedures
- ensure that all food items are correctly stored, labeled, dated and rotated to prevent health or safety hazards
- attend staff meetings including pre-shift sessions and training as required
- comply with all laws and club policies regarding alcoholic beverage service and inform manager if continued service is in question
- serve drinks to members and guests seated at lounge tables in the absence of a beverage server
- practice beverage and revenue control procedures
- thank members and guests and invite them to return
- complete other work assignments as requested by supervisor
