Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
Prior experience in a social or customer service role preferred
Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Must pass required background checks and any local certifications required for alcohol service
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
Good organizational skills and attention to detail

Job Qualifications

Hotel experience preferred
Must communicate well with guests
Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnish preparation, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock
Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale system to pre-check orders and close out checks
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt communication style based on audience

Job Duties

Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking all necessary supplies
Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner while promoting and documenting orders for drinks
Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing portion control
Adheres to all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest to maintain beverage accountability
Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
Locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures the cash bank
Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
