Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be of legal age to serve alcohol
- Prior experience in a social or customer service role preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- Must pass required background checks and any local certifications required for alcohol service
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Must communicate well with guests
- Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
- Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnish preparation, handle glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock
- Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items
- Ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale system to pre-check orders and close out checks
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
- Effective verbal and written communication skills with ability to adapt communication style based on audience
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking all necessary supplies
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables daily
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner while promoting and documenting orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes while practicing portion control
- Adheres to all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for each guest to maintain beverage accountability
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures the cash bank
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
