Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED recommended
  • Some College experience or Degree recommended
  • Must be TIPS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card
  • Previous bartending experience in a professional setting preferred

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Preparing all alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Assessing bar customer needs and preferences and making personalized recommendations
  • Stocking and maintaining the bar area to resort and health department standards
  • Providing an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • Participating in ongoing training for professional development
  • Serving food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • Setting up bar according to Pier Sixty-Six five-star standards
  • Cutting fruit and preparing garnishes as set by resort standards for service
  • Consistently keeping the bar area organized and clean
  • Knowing all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • Participating in updated training for the bar and menu items
  • Following pouring procedures appropriately using jiggers for accurate measurement
  • Notifying Supervisors immediately of product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • Having working knowledge of draft beer systems and how to properly change a keg
  • Answering questions on menu selections and drinks to servers and guests
  • Communicating with the kitchen regarding menu questions, wait times, recooking orders, and product availability
  • Recording all transactions in the POS system accurately and timely
  • Checking in with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverage
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas, china, and glass throughout the day
  • Completing closing duties including restocking items to set par levels and turning off lights
  • Presenting physical and accurate checks to guests and fully processing payments
  • Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean, professional, and well maintained
  • Welcoming and acknowledging all guests according to resort standards
  • Anticipating and addressing guests' service needs
  • Speaking clearly and professionally
  • Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others and supporting the team to reach common goals
  • Moving, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance
  • Thanking guests with genuine appreciation
  • Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors
  • Assisting Supervisors with inventory duties
  • Notifying manager or supervisor in a timely manner with suspicious ID cards or intoxicated guests
  • Proper cash handling of banks
  • Timely transfer of checks for guests moved to different sections
  • Adhering to departmental policies and procedures
  • Effectively communicating with peers, management, line, and front-of-the-house employees
  • Practicing effective listening
  • Performing related duties as required
  • Maintaining cleanliness of immediate work area and general property
  • Adhering to grooming, dress, and uniform standards set by Resort policy
  • Being courteous to all guests and coworkers
  • Maintaining behavior consistent with sexual harassment and hostile work environment policies
  • Maintaining complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, non-alcoholic selections, correct glassware, and garnishes at respective outlet
