Job Requirements
- minimum of 21 years of age
- valid driver's license and proof of insurance
- able to work in all weather conditions including rain, snow, heat, hail, wind, and sleet
- able to frequently walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, stoop, reach, lift and move items up to 25 lbs independently and 50 lbs with assistance
- passion for hospitality and the outdoors
- macgyver style problem-solving skills
- willing to travel regularly
Job Qualifications
- two years experience as a bartender
- ability to accurately compute and manipulate mathematical calculations
- knowledge of wines, beers, and spirits
- knowledge of pos systems
- alcohol awareness certification such as tips training
- strong verbal and written communication skills
- strong relationship and negotiation skills
- working knowledge of cloud based applications
- attention to detail
- ability to work independently and follow projects through to completion
Job Duties
- maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies and service procedures
- have thorough working knowledge of pos system including ordering, check presentation, payment processing
- maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations prohibiting service to minors and intoxicated persons
- maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- maintain complete knowledge of all liquor brands, beers, and non-alcoholic selections, glassware and garnishes for events
- maintain complete knowledge of every wine by the glass and major wines on the wine list
- maintain complete knowledge of all menu items including daily specials, prices, preparation method/time, major ingredients, quality standards of taste, appearance, texture, serving temperature, portion size, garnish, and presentation
- maintain complete knowledge of table/seat/station numbers, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set-up, and dress code
- complete setup and breakdown of all bars and cocktail furniture
- provide opening and closing counts of beverages at the start and end of banquet event orders
- requisition supplies as needed
- greet guests and suggest beverage orders
- relay daily specials with descriptions
- take guests’ orders using upselling techniques
- open and serve wines according to department standards
- total all sales and report to supervisors
- complete all closing reports in pos system and cashier report
- secure bar areas
- monitor and anticipate guest needs
- handle guest complaints
- maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of bar and service areas
- wash glassware, break down bar furniture and return items to storage
- document maintenance needs and attend meetings and tastings as scheduled
