Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be RBS certified or become certified within 30 days of hire
  • Must have a current Food Handlers card
  • Previous bartending experience in a professional setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages for guests
  • Assess bar customer needs and make personalized recommendations
  • Stock and maintain bar area to resort and health department standards
  • Provide an exceptional and memorable guest experience
  • Participate in ongoing training for professional development
  • Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests sitting at the bar
  • Set up bar and bar area according to resort standards
  • Cut fruit and prepare garnishes as set by resort standards
  • Keep the bar area organized and clean
  • Know all specialty cocktail ingredients and garnishes
  • Follow pouring procedures accurately using a jigger
  • Notify supervisors of product shortages or out-of-stock items
  • Operate draft beer systems and change kegs
  • Answer questions on menu selections and drinks
  • Communicate with kitchen regarding menu questions and order status
  • Record transactions in MICROS system accurately
  • Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and glassware
  • Complete closing duties including restocking and turning off lights
  • Present accurate checks and process payments
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional
  • Welcome and acknowledge guests according to resort standards
  • Anticipate and address guest service needs
  • Communicate clearly and professionally
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards
  • Ability to move and lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Thank guests with genuine appreciation
  • Assist supervisors with inventory
  • Report suspicious IDs or intoxicated guests
  • Handle cash banks properly
  • Transfer checks timely for guests moved to different sections
  • Adhere to departmental policies and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with peers and management
  • Practice effective listening
  • Maintain cleanliness of work and general property areas
  • Adhere to grooming and uniform standards
  • Be courteous to guests and coworkers
  • Maintain knowledge of liquor brands and drink selections
