Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • high school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • one year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue
  • must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire date
  • must successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • must be able to pass pre-employment and random drug screenings
  • ability to lift at least 150 lbs
  • must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • punctual and regular attendance in accordance with attendance policy

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • one year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue
  • excellent beverage knowledge including ingredients, proper mixing, and pouring techniques
  • comprehensive knowledge of liquor, beer, and wine
  • experience with Point-Of-Sale programs
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • knowledge of basic sanitation according to Indian Health Services requirements
  • ability to work cooperatively with diverse team members
  • ability to follow written and oral directions
  • detail-oriented with a strong customer service focus
  • ability to deal effectively with the general public

Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
  • crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
  • serves food items as required and prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe
  • sets up the bar area at beginning of shift including stocking products and changing kegs
  • breaks down the bar area at closing including cleaning and restocking
  • checks equipment and reports problems
  • maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation
  • operates POS system accurately accounting for all sales
  • adheres to alcohol service laws including age verification and responsible service
  • refuses service to intoxicated guests and handles situations with tact
  • completes all closing bar paperwork
  • assists in training new team members
  • ensures glassware is clean and free of damage
  • attends pre-shift meetings
  • completes daily sales and cash reconciliation
  • ensures product is properly stored and secured
  • completes incident documentation
  • maintains cleanliness of cash registers
  • represents the department professionally
  • accurately tenders and presents checks to guests
  • follows attendance policy
  • performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • changes kegs and maintains tables in absence of barback or server
