Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • One year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue
  • Must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • Will require a pre-employment and random drug screening
  • Must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server’s License prior to hire date
  • Ability to lift at least 150 lbs
  • Must be available to work scheduled shifts including days, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime
  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as bending, twisting, pulling, and reaching
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • One year of bartending experience in a similar volume venue
  • Two years of bartending experience preferred in a venue with a full liquor license
  • Knowledge of liquor, beer, and wines
  • Excellent beverage knowledge including ingredients, mixing, and proper pouring techniques
  • Experience with point-of-sale (POS) systems
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to count money and handle transactions accurately
  • Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Ability to work cooperatively within a diverse team
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions from leadership
  • Maintains the highest standard of personal hygiene

Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
  • Crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
  • Serves food items as required and prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredient measurements
  • Sets up and breaks down the bar area including stocking products, changing kegs, cleaning, and waste removal
  • Checks equipment such as ice machines, refrigerators, and draft systems and reports problems to supervisors
  • Maintains a clean and stocked bar workstation in compliance with health and safety guidelines
  • Operates point-of-sale system, manages cash and credit transactions, and maintains financial controls
  • Adheres to all alcohol service laws including age verification and responsible serving practices
  • Refuses service to intoxicated guests and manages challenging situations tactfully
  • Assists in training new team members
  • Completes closing bar paperwork and communicates restocking needs
  • Attends pre-shift meetings and completes daily reconciliations
  • Ensures proper storage and security of all products
  • Maintains professional conduct and positive representation of the department
  • Punctual and regular attendance according to assigned schedule
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
  • Changes kegs and maintains tables including clearing and sanitation in absence of barback or server
