Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in bartending or related hospitality role preferred
- legal age to serve alcohol
- ability to stand for extended periods
- excellent customer service skills
- strong communication abilities
- basic math proficiency
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately
- ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays
- compliance with all health and safety regulations
- ability to work in a team environment
- reliable attendance record
Job Qualifications
- hotel experience preferred
- must communicate well with guests
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- basic mathematical skills to operate register, make change, total guest checks, count bank, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
- sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware and bottles
- ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- ability to operate a keyboard and point of sale procedures
- ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- effective verbal and written communication skills
- ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
Job Duties
- maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis
- requisitions and stocks all beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce
- maintains stock, cuts, and stores all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily
- greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promotes and documents orders for drinks
- mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard recipes and portion control
- abides by all state, federal and corporate requirements for serving alcoholic beverages
- inputs orders into a register and creates checks for guests
- receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, and balances all money
- locks and stores all beverage, food and equipment items
- deposits cash drops and secures bank
- complies with attendance rules
- performs other job-related duties as assigned
