Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in bartending or related customer service role
  • ability to handle cash transactions responsibly
  • good knowledge of beverage preparation and service
  • ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • capacity to work under pressure
  • willingness to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends
  • physical ability to stand for long periods
  • age must meet local legal requirements for alcohol service

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous bartending or customer service experience preferred
  • knowledge of liquor, wine, beer, and specialty drinks
  • excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • basic math skills for handling transactions
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • strong organizational skills

Job Duties

  • Greet all customers with a friendly smile
  • provide friendly, efficient, and personal service to each customer
  • take food and drink orders
  • understand the food and beverage menu to articulate the best possible description and make appropriate recommendations to your guests
  • demonstrate an in-depth understanding of liquor, wine and beer, including specialty drinks
  • accurately and efficiently enter orders into POS system
  • clear and reset counters and tables at the conclusion of each guest visit
  • maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures
  • promote and support the restaurant's overall philosophy
  • communicate with floor managers
  • monitor food delivery and beverage service
  • keep abreast of food menu and beverage changes during the service
  • anticipate what the guests want and do not want
  • read the guests and determine the correct approach
  • take the extra step to turn good service into great service and make it an experience each guest will remember
  • act as the ultimate host on the floor, always looking for ways to exceed the guests' expectations
  • handle banking for the station, always handling monies out of the guests' view
  • control costs by pouring drinks at proper levels, ensuring all beverage items go on the guest check, limiting waste, taking accurate inventories
  • open and close the bar
