Job Requirements

  • Pass pre-employment background check
  • at least 18 years old
  • minimum 2 years food and beverage experience preferably as bartender
  • high school diploma preferred
  • able to obtain Food Service Sanitation certification
  • able to work flexible shifts including weekends and holidays
  • able to lift and carry at least 50lbs
  • ability to move up to 150lbs with wheeled assistance
  • able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods
  • maintains a current state alcohol serving permit
  • able to demonstrate competency in training
  • computer literate
  • able to handle criticism
  • service minded individual
  • positive attitude
  • quick on feet and adept at handling stress
  • maintain neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance

Job Duties

  • Take food and beverage orders
  • retrieve and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages
  • serve food to guests according to resort specifications
  • assist with maintenance and cleaning of restaurant areas and equipment
  • provide high levels of service and professionalism
  • adhere to Food and Beverage Service Standards
  • greet guests with enthusiasm and maintain positive guest relations
  • anticipate and respond to guest needs promptly
  • resolve guest complaints
  • utilize suggestive up-selling techniques
  • answer guest questions about food, beverages, and facilities
  • serve snacks or food items at the bar
  • mix cocktails and other drinks
  • remove soiled wares to dishwashing area
  • arrange bottles and glasses attractively
  • plan and control bar operations
  • plan bar menus and create drink recipes
  • manage assigned bank and ensure cash accuracy
  • process guest payments
  • order liquors and supplies
  • develop relationships with guests
  • communicate with food and beverage staff
  • maintain professional co-worker relationships
  • answer outlet phone with proper etiquette
  • follow checklists and standard procedures
  • prepare work area for shifts
  • complete side work
  • clean bars, work areas, tables, glasses, utensils, and bar equipment
  • maintain cleanliness and organization
  • maintain professional appearance
  • maintain knowledge of menu items and liquor brands
  • comply with department policies and service procedures
  • serve alcoholic beverages appropriately
  • strictly abide by state liquor laws
  • limit issues related to excessive drinking
  • maintain regular attendance
  • continuously increase product knowledge
  • perform requested related tasks
  • perform additional supportive functions as assigned
