Job Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • one year of bartending experience in a venue with similar volume
  • must obtain and maintain a New Mexico Alcohol Server's License prior to hire date
  • must be able to successfully pass a stringent background investigation
  • will require pre-employment and random drug screening
  • ability to lift at least 150 pounds
  • ability to maintain punctual and regular attendance
  • must be available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, split shifts, and overtime as needed
  • ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions
  • ability to handle physical activities including balancing, climbing, crouching, crawling, bending, reaching, walking, standing, sitting, stooping, kneeling, talking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, and fine finger dexterity

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent
  • must be at least 21 years of age
  • one year of bartending experience in a venue with similar volume
  • two years of bartending experience in a venue with a full liquor license preferred
  • exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to count money and make change correctly
  • excellent beverage knowledge including ingredients, proper mixing, and pouring techniques
  • comprehensive knowledge of liquor, beer, and wines
  • knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and delivery systems
  • knowledge of bar and restaurant operations
  • experience with point-of-sale programs
  • detail oriented with a strong customer service focus
  • ability to follow written and oral directions
  • ability to maintain a safe work environment
  • maintains highest standard of personal hygiene
  • knowledge of basic sanitation in accordance with Indian Health Services requirements
  • ability to work harmoniously with diverse team members

Job Duties

  • Provides exceptional service to guests by taking orders, making recommendations, and ensuring a positive experience
  • crafts and serves a wide range of beverages including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks
  • serves food items as required and prepares drinks with proper pouring portions and ingredients according to recipe
  • sets up the bar area at the beginning of the shift including stocking products and changing kegs, and breaks down the bar area at closing including cleaning tasks
  • checks and maintains equipment such as ice machines, refrigerators, chillers, glass washers, and draft systems
  • maintains a clean bar and stocked workstation in compliance with health and safety guidelines
  • operates POS system handling transactions accurately and maintains integrity of financial controls
  • adheres to all applicable laws and regulations for alcohol service including age verification and responsible practices
  • refuses service to intoxicated guests and handles challenging situations professionally
  • completes closing paperwork and manages inventory restocking
  • assists in training new team members
  • ensures glassware is clean and free of damage
  • attends pre-shift meetings and completes daily sales reconciliation
  • ensures product is properly secured and stored
  • completes incident documentation and temperature logs
  • maintains cleanliness of cash registers
  • represents department positively through professional conduct and appearance
  • accurately tends and presents checks to guests
