Job Requirements

  • Must be able to pass all server and bartender tests
  • Ability to welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds
  • Strong communication skills with clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language
  • Ability to work as a team and maintain an effective atmosphere
  • Ability to keep all areas cleaned and stocked
  • Capable of mixing, garnishing and serving drinks following standard recipes
  • Experience with handling money and operating point of sale systems
  • Ability to arrange attractive bottle and glass displays
  • Physically able to stand and walk throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift up to 35 lbs
  • Good hearing and vision
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Prior restaurant experience

  • Prior experience working in a restaurant
  • Basic knowledge of beer, wine and spirits
  • Familiarity with standard drink recipes
  • Must be 21 or older
  • Prior experience as a bartender preferred

Job Duties

  • Pass all server and bartender tests
  • Welcome each guest personally within 30 seconds
  • Communicate with guests using clear and enthusiastic words, tone and body language at all times
  • Work as a team with all restaurant personnel to maintain an effective atmosphere and an efficient food and beverage service
  • Work with others to keep all areas cleaned and stocked to GCRG's standards at all times
  • Serve food items to customers seated at the bar or bar table areas
  • Mix, garnish and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic drinks for patrons of bar and dining room following standard recipes
  • Ring drink orders into computer immediately, collect money from guests for drinks served and make change
  • Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor and related supplies such as ice, glassware, napkins or straws
  • Arrange bottles and glasses to maintain an attractive display
  • Wash and sterilize stemware
  • Be attentive and offer assistance before the guest has to ask for it
  • Count drinks guests are served
  • Place current bar tabs in front of guests at all times
  • Monitor and ensure that no guest receives more than the allowed number of specific drinks
  • Anticipate guests' needs and follow the half-full rule when offering another drink
  • Take, fill and check on to-go orders
  • Handle money
  • Communicate with server to have drinks ran when ready
  • Run drinks when able to
  • Serve alcohol responsibly and arrange taxi for guests if needed
  • Perform other duties as directed
