Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years bartending in the hospitality industry
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • San Diego County Food Handlers Card within 30 days of employment
  • Completed anti-harassment and nondiscrimination 1-hour class
  • Completed Responsible Alcohol Service (RBS) training
  • Able to sit, stand or walk for up to 8 hours at a time
  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds safely and properly
  • Able to bend, stoop and climb
  • Able to push and pull

Job Duties

  • Welcome customers, read and listen to determine beverage preferences, make recommendations, and take drink orders
  • Plan drink menus and inform customers about new beverages and specials
  • Select and mix ingredients, garnish glasses, and serve beverages to customers
  • Check identification to ensure customers are the legal age to purchase alcohol
  • Take inventory and order supplies to ensure bar and tables are well-stocked
  • Adhere to all food safety and quality regulations
  • Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions, ensure charges are accurate and return correct change to patrons, balance the cash register
  • Maintain a clean work and dining area by removing trash, cleaning tables, and washing glasses, utensils, and equipment
  • Develop new cocktail recipes
  • Greet guests and attend to them in a polite friendly manner
  • Maintain knowledge of facility, surrounding area, prices and menu items offered
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar menus and organization of menus
  • Communicate efficiently with management, service staff and guests
  • Use POS system to correctly complete transactions efficiently and minimize mistakes
  • Complete opening, running and closing side-work duties
