Alvarado Street Brewery is a distinguished craft brewery and restaurant group based in Monterey County, California, with a rich history rooted in community and quality. Founded in March 2014 by the father-son duo John and J.C. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- able to stand, walk, and be on feet for prolonged periods
- able to maneuver on uneven ground
- able to read and follow written English instructions
- able to twist, turn, kneel, climb, stoop, bend, and crawl regularly
- able to lift and carry supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds on occasion and 25 pounds regularly
- able to safely navigate crowded spaces
- able to operate food preparation appliances and machinery
- able to tolerate exposure to extreme temperature changes
- able to perform daily repetitive hand movements related to food preparation
- able to work in indoor and outdoor environments with moderate noise and occasionally slippery floors
- able to comply with and enforce all health, safety, and hygiene policies and standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- at least 1 year bartending experience in a restaurant or pub with full bar preferred
- excellent verbal and listening communication skills
- valid Safe Food Handling certification (ServSafe)
- current TIPS training certification preferred
- ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- flexibility to work a variety of shifts
- ability to maintain professional demeanor in stressful situations
- enthusiasm, outgoing and positive attitude
Job Duties
- Welcome and greet guests
- take beverage orders from guests and servers
- verify age of all guests who appear under 30 years old
- prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks consistent with standard drink recipes
- learn the names and personally recognize regular guests
- record drink orders accurately and process in POS system
- accept guests payments and process credit card charges
- prepare garnishes for drinks and replenish appetizers
- maintain bottles and glasses in an attractive and functional manner
- clear and reset bar top promptly and efficiently
- present drink menus and make recommendations
- maintain cleanliness in all bar areas
- receive and serve food orders to bar guests
- report equipment problems and bar maintenance issues
- assist with restocking and replenishment of bar inventory and supplies
- thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
- fill in as needed to support restaurant operations
- comply with all safety and health policies
