Job Requirements
- Bartending experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation
- Excellent guest relations and communication skills
- Ability to perform basic math calculations
- Ability to learn and use telephone and POS systems
- Attention to detail and multitasking ability
- Proficiency in English language
- Availability for flexible work schedules including holidays and weekends
- Minimum age of 21 years
- Completion of TIPS alcohol awareness certification
- Valid Food Handlers Card or willingness to obtain
- Knowledge of health standards
- Clean and professional appearance
Job Qualifications
- Bartending experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment
- Possess a strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations and etiquette
- Must have extensive knowledge of wine, beer, liquors, waters and drink preparation
- Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction
- Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- Requires ability to learn and use telephone and POS computer systems used at the hotel
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English to understand instructions, safety rules, and communicate with guests
- Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
- Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
- Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) alcohol awareness certification as scheduled upon employment
- Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
- Must know all applicable health standards
- Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor
Job Duties
- Prepares cocktails and/or beverages to guest specifications
- Describes all bar items, methods of preparation and prices as needed
- Works with guests to accommodate special requests and special dietary needs
- Up sells established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues
- Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner
- Performs pre and post-shift side work
- set-up, breakdown, condiments, roll-ups etc
- Responds to guest inquiries and special requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction
- notifies supervisor of guests' complaints and unusual situations
- Cash handling/balance bank at the end of each shift and calculating tip outs
- Serving tables when needed
