Job Requirements

  • Bartending experience, preferably in a hotel or resort environment
  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • Excellent guest relations and communication skills
  • Ability to perform basic math calculations
  • Ability to learn and use telephone and POS systems
  • Attention to detail and multitasking ability
  • Proficiency in English language
  • Availability for flexible work schedules including holidays and weekends
  • Minimum age of 21 years
  • Completion of TIPS alcohol awareness certification
  • Valid Food Handlers Card or willingness to obtain
  • Knowledge of health standards
  • Clean and professional appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Bartending experience, preferably in a hotel/resort environment
  • Possess a strong knowledge of food and beverage preparation, hotel service standards, guest relations and etiquette
  • Must have extensive knowledge of wine, beer, liquors, waters and drink preparation
  • Requires strong communication and interpersonal skills and commitment to a high level of guest satisfaction
  • Ability to perform basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
  • Requires ability to learn and use telephone and POS computer systems used at the hotel
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English to understand instructions, safety rules, and communicate with guests
  • Work schedules will include working on holidays, weekends and alternate shifts
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Must complete TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) alcohol awareness certification as scheduled upon employment
  • Must have a valid current Food Handlers Card or willingness and ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment
  • Must know all applicable health standards
  • Must maintain a clean appearance and professional demeanor

Job Duties

  • Prepares cocktails and/or beverages to guest specifications
  • Describes all bar items, methods of preparation and prices as needed
  • Works with guests to accommodate special requests and special dietary needs
  • Up sells established menu items or specials to maximize food and beverage revenues
  • Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner
  • Performs pre and post-shift side work
  • set-up, breakdown, condiments, roll-ups etc
  • Responds to guest inquiries and special requests promptly to ensure guest satisfaction
  • notifies supervisor of guests' complaints and unusual situations
  • Cash handling/balance bank at the end of each shift and calculating tip outs
  • Serving tables when needed
