Job Requirements

  • Hold a current food handler card
  • knowledge of liquor laws and safe beverage service
  • basic math skills
  • good manual dexterity
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • ability to comprehend and apply written instructions
  • must maintain clean and professional appearance

Job Qualifications

  • Knowledge of state, federal and corporate liquor regulations
  • current food handler card
  • basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation
  • basic mathematical skills to operate cash register and make change
  • basic English writing skills for requisitions and vouchers
  • manual dexterity to handle garnishes and glassware
  • ability to understand customer inquiries and communicate instructions
  • ability to remember and promote menu items
  • ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee makers

Job Duties

  • Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
  • promote and document orders for drinks
  • mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes and portion control
  • maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking
  • cut and store fresh fruit, juices and garnishes to ensure product quality
  • handle cash transactions, verify charges and balance money
  • lock up and secure all beverages, food, cash and equipment at closing
  • answer bar phone promptly and take room service orders courteously
  • input orders into register and create checks for guests
  • perform cleaning tasks to maintain health standards
  • adhere to company policies and safety procedures
  • report unsafe conditions, accidents or injuries to supervisor
  • maintain neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • assist other beverage personnel as needed
  • perform related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
