Job Requirements

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous bartending or customer service experience preferred
  • Strong multitasking and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of alcohol service laws and responsible beverage practices
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions
  • Ability to lift and carry moderately heavy items
  • Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset
  • Willingness to complete alcohol awareness training
  • Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling

Job Duties

  • Prepare and serve beverages to guests according to recipes
  • Stock/restock appropriate areas of the bar with alcohol, glassware, ice and supplies
  • Work a variety of hours, days and shifts, including weekends
  • Effectively service a full bar top, cocktail station, and dining room orders
  • Safely transport food or beverages to a table of three in a single trip
  • Safely tolerate exposure to liquids frequently, including water, cleaning solutions, alcohol and juices
  • Use and operate all necessary tools and equipment, including knives and blenders
  • Communicate effectively to perform and follow job requirements
  • Multitask calmly and effectively in a busy, stressful environment
  • Work in a confined, crowded space of variable noise and temperature levels
  • Move and lift up to 10 pounds frequently up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds
  • Stand and walk entire shift and move safely through restaurant areas including stairs and slick surfaces
  • Ensure the guest experience exceeds expectations and anticipate needs
  • Greet guests with a warm, sincere smile
  • Use tact and good judgement with guest challenges responding with patience and courtesy
  • Safely and properly change beer kegs, CO2 tanks and soda dispensers
  • Manually wash and sanitize glassware
  • Account for and maintain security of bar stock and inventory
  • Secure and reconcile bar cash drawer
  • Recognize intoxicated guests and refuse service as appropriate
  • Record and process orders and payments accurately
  • Understand and respond to questions about restaurant and menu
  • Use sales techniques and promote current offers
  • Follow all steps of service
  • Understand and follow food allergy procedures
  • Operate POS system and payment terminals proficiently
  • Comply with safety and sanitation guidelines
  • Complete alcohol awareness training
  • Follow all company policies
  • Be a team player
  • Perform other duties as assigned
