Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in hospitality or related field preferred
  • Must be of legal age to serve alcoholic beverages
  • Knowledge of state and federal alcohol laws
  • Basic math skills for cash handling
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Strong communication skills
  • Availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Must communicate well with guests
  • Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
  • Basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register and manage transactions
  • Sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes and handle glassware, bottles, and ice
  • Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
  • Ability to operate a point of sale system
  • Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to adapt communication style for different audiences

Job Duties

  • Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking of all supplies
  • Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing of all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and other perishables daily
  • Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
  • Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control
  • Abides by all State, Federal and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages
  • Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests to maintain beverage accountability
  • Receives and handles cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and balances money
  • Locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items and secures cash deposits and bank
  • Complies with attendance rules and is available to work on a regular basis
  • Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
