Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal alcohol service regulations
- Basic math skills
- Manual dexterity for bar tasks
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment
- Legal age to serve alcohol in the state
Job Qualifications
- Hotel experience preferred
- Must communicate well with guests
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count bank totals, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
- Manual dexterity to use knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock
- Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences
Job Duties
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
- Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control
- Abides by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements related to serving alcoholic beverages
- Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests to maintain beverage accountability
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures the bank
- Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
- Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
