Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in hospitality or bar service preferred
Knowledge of state and federal alcohol service regulations
Basic math skills
Manual dexterity for bar tasks
Good communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
Ability to stand for extended periods
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Legal age to serve alcohol in the state

Job Qualifications

Hotel experience preferred
Must communicate well with guests
Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of alcoholic beverages
Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count bank totals, prepare cash drops, and understand portion sizes
Manual dexterity to use knife to make garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and retrieve stock
Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures
Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with associates, customers, and patrons
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences

Job Duties

Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar on a daily basis including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily function projections
Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure product quality
Greets guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
Mixes, garnishes, and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and prudent portion control
Abides by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements related to serving alcoholic beverages
Inputs orders into a register at the point of sale and creates checks for guests to maintain beverage accountability
Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records transactions, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
Locks and stores all beverage, food, and equipment items, deposits cash drops, and secures the bank
Complies with attendance rules and is available to work regularly
Performs any other job-related duties as assigned
