Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior experience in customer service or restaurant environment preferred
  • excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and maintain composure under pressure

Job Qualifications

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests
  • have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions
  • possess basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system
  • be able to work standing for long periods
  • be able to safely lift and maneuver trays weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • make all guests feel comfortable and let them know you are there to personally take care of them
  • inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • make recommendations guests will enjoy
  • answer questions about food, beverages and restaurant services
  • take food and beverage orders and enter them in the point-of-sale system
  • deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner
  • perform side work at the start and end of each shift
  • maintain clean service areas
  • monitor and observe guests dining experience to ensure satisfaction
  • respond promptly and courteously to requests
  • prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment and process credit card charges or make change
  • assist fellow servers as needed
  • assist bus person with clearing and resetting tables
  • thank guests for their visit and invite them to return
  • fill in as needed to ensure smooth and efficient restaurant operation as directed by manager or supervisor
