Job Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Previous experience as a server or in customer service is an asset
Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours continuously
Ability to lift and maneuver trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds
Basic math skills
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
Possess basic math skills to handle money and operate point-of-sale systems
Able to work standing for long periods
Able to safely lift and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

Welcome and greet guests
Make all guests feel comfortable and inform them you will personally take care of them
Inform guests of specials and menu changes
Make genuine menu recommendations
Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
Take food and beverage orders and enter them accurately in the point-of-sale system
Deliver food and beverages promptly
Perform side work for service station duties at the start and end of shifts
Maintain clean service areas
Monitor guests' dining experience and ensure satisfaction
Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
Prepare and present the final bill
Process payments accurately including credit cards and change
Assist fellow servers and bus persons as needed
Thank guests and invite them to return
Fill in flexibly as directed by management to ensure efficient restaurant operations
