Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Previous experience as a server or in customer service is an asset
  • Must be able to stand for up to 5 hours continuously
  • Ability to lift and maneuver trays weighing 20 to 25 pounds
  • Basic math skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of guests
  • Have basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures
  • Possess basic math skills to handle money and operate point-of-sale systems
  • Able to work standing for long periods
  • Able to safely lift and carry trays weighing up to 25 pounds

Job Duties

  • Welcome and greet guests
  • Make all guests feel comfortable and inform them you will personally take care of them
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes
  • Make genuine menu recommendations
  • Answer questions about food, beverages, and restaurant services
  • Take food and beverage orders and enter them accurately in the point-of-sale system
  • Deliver food and beverages promptly
  • Perform side work for service station duties at the start and end of shifts
  • Maintain clean service areas
  • Monitor guests' dining experience and ensure satisfaction
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests
  • Prepare and present the final bill
  • Process payments accurately including credit cards and change
  • Assist fellow servers and bus persons as needed
  • Thank guests and invite them to return
  • Fill in flexibly as directed by management to ensure efficient restaurant operations
