Job Requirements
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
- knowledge of liquor laws and regulations
- Food Handler Card certification
- previous experience in food and beverage service preferred
- basic math skills
- basic English communication skills
- manual dexterity for beverage preparation
- physical ability to stand and walk for long periods
- ability to lift up to 30 pounds
- adherence to company grooming standards
- reliable and punctual work ethic
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
- hold a current Food Handler Card
- basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- basic mathematical skills necessary to operate a cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total other charges, and understand portion sizes
- basic English language writing skills necessary for completion of requisitions and vouchers
- sufficient manual dexterity to use a knife for garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks and reach overhead to retrieve stock
- basic knowledge of English language sufficient to understand customer inquiries and communicate simple instructions
- ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker
- ability to transport up to 30 lbs continuously throughout the shift
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner
- promote and document orders for drinks
- mix, garnish and present drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- maintain proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking of all supplies
- maintain stock, cut and store all fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and other perishables daily to ensure product quality
- receive cash from guests, make change, verify and record charges, and balance all moneys
- lock up and store all beverages, food and equipment, deposit cash drops and secure bank
- answer bar phone promptly to take room service orders courteously
- input orders into register and create checks to maintain beverage accountability
- perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards
- adhere to all company policies and procedures
- follow safety and security procedures and rules
- know fire prevention and emergency procedures
- utilize protective equipment
- report unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor
- maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- perform any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
- assist other beverage personnel when needed
