Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in beverage service or hospitality preferred
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- Knowledge of state and federal liquor laws
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
- Basic math and communication skills
- Ability to follow safety and hygiene standards
- Must maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Proven ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
Job Qualifications
- Knowledge of all State, Federal and Corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
- Hold a current Food Handler Card
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank and prepare cash drops
- Basic English language writing skills for completion of requisitions and vouchers
- Manual dexterity to use a knife for garnishes, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks and retrieve stock
- Basic English language skills to understand customer inquiries and communicate instructions
- Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions
- Ability to remember, recite and promote variety of menu items
- Ability to operate beverage equipment such as coffee maker
Job Duties
- Greet guests in a courteous and friendly manner, promotes and documents orders for drinks
- Mixes, garnishes and presents drinks using standard ingredient recipes and practicing prudent portion control
- Maintains proper and adequate set-up of the bar daily including requisitioning and stocking supplies
- Responsible for maintaining stock, cutting, and storing fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables daily
- Receives cash from guests, makes change, verifies charges, records charges, and ensures vouchers are properly executed
- Locks up and stores all beverages, food and equipment, deposits cash drops and secures bank
- Answers bar phone promptly, takes room service orders accurately and inputs orders into the register
- Performs general cleaning tasks to adhere to health standards
- Adheres to all company policies, procedures, safety and security rules
- Reports unsafe conditions and accidents to supervisor
- Maintains a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
- Assists other beverage personnel when needed
- Performs any related duties as requested by supervisor or manager
