Job Requirements
- Completion of mixology, barkeeping, or other related training required
- at least one year of related experience preferred
- must be at least 18 years or older to serve alcoholic drinks
- frequently required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to handle and feel, and reach with hands and arms
- occasionally required to bend, kneel, crouch, climb stairs, and reach overhead
- ability to complete orders quickly and accurately
- must be able to lift at least 15 pounds at a time
Job Qualifications
- Extensive knowledge of drink preparation and service
- exceptional interpersonal, oral, and presentation skills with focus on serving customers
- ability to work in fast-paced, changing environment
- ability to remain calm when dealing with unruly and argumentative patrons
- ability to learn point of sales systems and software
Job Duties
- Receive orders from patrons or waitstaff
- prepare and serve liquor, mixed drinks, wine, beer, and nonalcoholic drinks as ordered
- ensure that fruit and other garnishes are prepared ahead of the opening of the bar
- maintain bar spaces and keep them clean and organized
- attractively display glasses, liquor, and other bar items so its pleasing for guests to look at
- collect payments from guest for drinks prepared and served
- ensure that customers are of legal drinking age by checking photo id's
- utilize proper judgment and discretion, when necessary, refuse service to patrons who are intoxicated or disruptive
- perform all other duties as assigned
